Sandra reached out to me to help her design a logo as she was starting to teach yoga professionally, after finishing her 200-hour teaching course in India. We have worked together before on Photo Guard, so we had an understanding of each other's styles.
Sandra provides me with some guidelines or concepts in which she envisioned her brand to represent and what she wanted to incorporate into the logo. With constant communication and feedback, we went through four variations until we came to the final logo.
Sandra's four design concepts were:
With these four concepts in mind, I came up with 5 different style logos with Sandra's temporary brand name, SH Yoga.
After some thought, Sandra narrowed down to style 1 and style 2. She wanted to take the design further as she liked some elements of each logo and wanted to try different ways we can incorporate the logotype more seamlessly with the design.
Sandra fell in love with the lotus circle in style 1 and really wanted to combine the concept of a yoga figure into the lotus design. With the base design concept down packed, I started to work on the yoga figure in three styles: abstract, minimal and detailed as Sandra wasn't quite sure which design style she wanted.
The Minimalistic Version was the favourite out of the three styles. Sandra wanted to use 2016 Pantone Colour of the Year, Rose Quartz and Pantone Marsala for the colour scheme. She removed the logotype as she was still working the name for her brand.
